evaluation

Evaluation for visual recording / games design document

 Techniques and tools
to start off my games design document I had to get images for reference so we went to Dartmoor to take images of what has potential to be able help create the idea then we had to start designing our characters ,
I had chosen to design the horse the horse had to have a ghostly look to it because it is a phantom horse so I had to create a character so I had drew an outline of the horse filled in the details and added tones and shades

so I found tools that were useful for this was a graphics tablet and a camera

the camera so I can get the images and use them to manipulate and change them into a game scene as well as as reference for the game in general

the graphics tablet to be able to create the horse character for the game and in shot
in future development I would want to improve the quality of the designs.
for my characters I want to improve this because then I can't make more characters as well as make them interact and match the game art style.

 How successful is your artwork

In my opinion it is successful however I cannot test it because If I were to show the document to a child they wouldn't understand it.

I also think that it doesn't reach to the target audience because it is too dark for the liking of most children like bright colours example: red , blue , yellow.

I think that the art work doesn't reflect the original concept because the concept had at least 5 myths / legends but I had only managed to create 1 character to represent the legend.

I think that the technique I used to get  concept that I had was starting with a research and then a mind map and working on from there I have created this

- What would you change

If I were to change my work if I had done it again I would add more bright colours and get feedback off my ideas for my target audience.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of one of your peers artwork on their blogs.

The concept is clear that it is a racing game that you have more than one worry of just driving straight on the road but also avoid that what is the hairy hands. the artwork is also easily setting a dark and scary atmosphere with the hands showing the muscles and the rotting flesh on the back of the hands.
in my opinion this has a clear message because it is playing the game similar to the actual story.
