colour
we had made a colour version of line drawings
this technique uses layer styles to create the textures and tones
in the end i chose some of the more simple looking ones so that it looks more like the actual cube
in this version i pretty much changed the shaded version of the cube changed the colours of the greys for similair colours to the original i kept some of the grey to show shadow and gaps between each square.
research drawings
Hellboy
the cover for Hellboy has an interesting look to it though it is simple it makes Hellboy stand out being the only thing in colour
so it will attract attention the image is quite dark showing that death may occur. also the fact he has cigarette in his mouth shows that he isn't a nice person even if he is the protagonist
the skull in the background shows that pain and death is in the story.they probably made this image by drawing it by had and refining the image in Photoshop or producing the full comic by hand they had more than likely drew the parts the was not black and the outlines and filed in the back ground black with photoshop.
this is the cover for Conan the barbarian which seems that it is
the protagonist on a ghost ship at night what seems like he is lost . and the skull in the background suggests that he will die.
they probable used liquefy tool and reducing the opacity on the skull as well as to make the smoke you could paint the smoke with a soft brush tool and lowing opacity in layers.
the colours in the cover suggests death and pain by the lack of bright colours. as well as his face being emotionless this looks like it was hand drawn and edited slightly or drawn with a tablet .the lines are used to a minimum and shading is used to give majority or detail
colder
colder's cover is a rather grotesque image that uses a small amount of line in the drawing a lot of the detail is in the shading and colours the gruesome detail in the right side of the face with the blood dripping down the face and hand this image the blood could have been made by using a dark red and lowering the opacity the rest of the image would have been hand designed and scanned the image into Photoshop and add the colour and title . the images tones make it darker

shading
we did some shading with some of our line drawings
I didn't use a line drawing for this image however I did use a photographic reference to create it i had god a picture of the Rubik's cube and turned it grey and drew the outline then I tried different layer effects to be able to give textures on to the cubes for example on the top left i used bevel and emboss as well as a inner shadow
on this shading I had used paint bucket on tones relatively close to the colours tone to the colour I prefer this
techniques of shading because it seems more realistic as well as it giving a shadow. the techniques that I used earlier have a line that is too crisp with this image it has slight curves that help show that its a 3-D object
line drawings
today we did some line drawings we had to do 3 angles
this one is a line drawing that I produced on Photoshop using a graphics tablet. I drew it at an angle of a side view above the cube I chose this view so that I can show more than 1 face. I found it slightly difficult
the reason I found it difficult is because it is harder to do a straight line thatit seems
i also tried doing a line drawing in a more traditional way which is drawing it with pen and paper then scanning it in to the computer I found this more difficult than drawing it with the pen than with Photoshop
because it is more difficult to correct the errors
